Beautiful :') Honestly one of the best drawings I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot. Alan is my man-crush, and you have certainly done him total justice. I've been depressed for the past few days, and seeing this actually made me happy; thanks. I'd take my hat off to you. What's the scale?
Well... I think I should write something wise now but I just can't, you've made me totally speechless . It's a great honour and pure joy to read so marvellous comment. I'm very glad that my drawing has improved your mood, because I've never expected it is able to do this. It means a lot for me and the more I appreciate it, so I'd like to thank you so very, very much!
The size of whole Alan's drawing is 50 cm x 70 cm, and this face is just a part of it.
I'm in awe. I fall down at your feet! How do you do it? Every aspect of this drawing is perfect! I love to draw realistically, but you are in class far above me. How do you get the skin tones so smooth? That seems to be my biggest problem. I use tissue, fingers, blending stubs, Q-tips, and I don't get the smoothness and blending that I want. How long have you been drawing? Thank you for posting your art.
And I'd like to express my great thanks to you! I always wanted to draw as realistic drawing as the reference photos are, but still have problems to achieve my dream perfection . This is the only drawing I'm really proud of. I also use the tissues to smooth the skin but never use a finger - it can destroy the drawing because it is usually moist. And for the smaller areas a tortillon is very helpful. I start from harder pencils (2H), then I go to softer ones (B series) and each layer of graphite I put I smooth. I don't remember how much time I spent on this drawing, probably 30-40 hours in one week. And if you're asking me how long I've been drawing in general - it will be almost 2 years.
Wow! Thanks for all your wonderful comments! I don't remember how long I had been drawing it (might be about 20-30 hours). I use an ordinary paper, bought in stationer's. I suppose it doesn't even have a brand. It's cheaper than that in shop for artists but it is very white, smooth and quite thick - that's all I want I work with Koh-i-noor pencils (2H-8B) and 0,5mm mechanical pencil, but maybe I'll try something new in the future
